-ed and -ing adjectives

كثيرا ما يخطئ المتعلمون في التفريق بين ed adjectives-  و ing adjectives-.

• -ing adjectives:  

 نستعمل ing adjectives- في وصف طرف مُؤثّر في غيره. مثلا:

• It is a tiring job.

هذه المهنة متعِبة. هي تُتعِب أي تؤثر في من يقوم بها. لذلك استعملنا في وصفها ing adjective-.

• -ed adjectives:  

نستعمل ed adjectives- في وصف الطرف المتأثر بغيره. مثلا:

• He worked for 10 hours. He is so tired.

لقد عمل لعشر ساعات. إنه متعَب جدا.  أي أنه تأثر بشيء ما. لذلك استعملنا في وصفه ed adjective-.

 

Activity: Choose the right option:

• The exam was difficult. I was (confused/confusing) and I couldn’t answer most of the questions.

• When I talk to this person, I feel (bored/boring). He is a (bored/boring) person.

• I am (interested/interesting) in reading books. I think it (interested/ interesting) and it helps me in my studies.

• Travelling helps us enjoy ourselves and makes us (excited/exciting). It is an (excited/exciting) activity.
